Simple Unified Awareness Giving Rise to Its Own Waves

The Baps Temple in New Jersey, a magnificent Temple inside a Temple.

When my experiences became steady in relation to Self-awareness, a fulfilling and interesting knowledge and perceptual state slid into awareness. The abstraction and deep experience of a unified understanding became sensory and inundated even my surrounding living space with a tangible thickness of familiarity. The onset of unified awareness was not what I thought it would be, while very satisfying and undeniably clear it is also very, very simple and quietly, naturally accessible. The underlying experience of unified awareness is a shimmering ocean in utter repose.

My inside-to-outside flow and silence of experience is a sort of a gentle oneness that sees with the eyes of knowledge in both directions of awareness. This see-through, Self-revealing-exchange quality of my awareness has a mirror-like clarity that shines with the sparkle of unified knowingness.

Walking down any street, I know I am in Fairfield and Fairfield is in the USA, the USA is in the World, the World in the Solar System, and so forth. Whatever I am thinking or doing I always know and sense where I am in time and space. In a similar, way a unified Self-awareness is always apparent as Self-wakefulness, a quiet, blissful Devata presence and a unified physical feeling with my surroundings.

When a little shimmer, a little movement, a little sight or a little understanding develops within the field of Self-awareness then it starts to be recognized as the whole field of a personal experience.

It is the inherently similar nature of all experience that made the knowledge transition into conscious, unified awareness so natural and easy. But still it is only the perspective or the angle of understanding that sets the outside and the inside apart. Conscious Self-awareness is the permeating dynamic or vital ingredient to both.

Unified-awareness was for me simply recognizing that the so-called ‘outside’ experience of the senses is not separate from any inside experience—it has always been porous, but it is now seen, known and accepted as my normal experience.

When I finally realized who was having the experience, that I was both the inner and outer Unified-awareness, the mechanics of experience did not change. But still the presence of the experiencer changed everything. The Self-aware knower simply seeing gets rewarded with unified understanding and lively bliss at any and all points of experience.

There is no place that this blaze of radiant awareness does not penetrate. I can see this luminous fire around and as the different layers of my heart, mind and body. It is red, gold and white, blazing out and folding in, as flames of the intelligent light of consciousness.

Consciousness is the most delicate vibration and unity of the hum of a cosmic wakefulness. This ocean that roars, ranges to a stillness so still that it reflects the whole memory of existence in my—everyone’s—awareness. My experience is like a great fire in the shape of a golden, universal egg. It is the intelligent sound and sight—or universal knowingness—of Self-awareness; it is cool, warm and delicate; it is beyond words and the safe haven of all thoughts. Around me the Devata values of creation sing and dance in purposeful rhythms of unending joy without disturbing the ocean of universal simplicity.

Thank you, Maharishi. Thank you, Guru Dev. Jai Guru Dev.
